Welcome to JustPlayGo. I created this site in September 2009 not having a clear idea of what I wanted to do with it. As an unabashed professional-go junkie who follows pro tournaments, keeping tabs on my favorite players, I naturally gravitated toward this interest and began scouring the internet for the latest news and games from the professional go world.
What I found was a mass of disjointed information and sources in English. There wasn't a clearinghouse per se for Western go players who wanted to keep abreast of the professional scene in China, Japan and Korea. In fact, there really isn't such a website even now. For those who speak Korean, Chinese, or Japanese, news about the professional go world is readily available from a number of dedicated sources. What we need is an ESPN of go for westerners. JustPlayGo is decidedly not that but perhaps if enough interest and demand for such an enterprise can be generated, we may see something in the near future.
In any event, I hope you find my site interesting, helpful, insightful, or whatever it is that brings you here. JustPlayGo will certainly change over time as my interests and skill in the game evolve, but it will always focus on the larger world of go. I won't give the usual spiel about what go is all about. There are plenty of sites that do just that and do it very well - see some of the links in the sidebar.
I hope JustPlayGo can be a useful resource for you or at least sufficiently useful that you return regularly. I will do my best to provide timely and relevant material. If you have any suggestions, comments or criticisms, please let me know. Like go itself, improving is what the journey is all about. Enjoy your stay and leave a comment or two. Thank you.
